We believe all environments of transition and the communities who live within them should be reachable in an effective, environmentally sustainable, and affordable way. We strive for engineering excellence and innovation, combined with proven technology to provide customers modern, reliable marine solutions.
From small hovercraft to large, we are dedicated to consistently combining practical experience with cutting edge innovation. It is these innovations that enable us to build craft that have higher payloads, better fuel efficiency, are more environmentally friendly and more user friendly than any other on the market.
Based on the South Coast of the UK, we house a primary production facility of 55,853 square feet for a dedicated lean manufacturing line. A further 11,684 square feet of specialised production facilities are also on site alongside two hovercraft slipways leading directly on to the waters of the South Coast.
We have supplied over 180 robust, built-to-class, marine-grade aluminium hovercraft to over 41 countries worldwide. For over 50 years, Griffon Hoverwork has supplied the world’s best in search & rescue, passenger transport, commercial operations and defence with the confidence and competence to achieve their goals in the face of intimidating environmental challenges.
We build our hovercraft to withstand the harsh environmental conditions that operators are increasingly confronted with. Providing an operationally reliable platform for users is a foundational cornerstone of our products as well as our support services and spares supply for continued user successes. Craft built in the 1980s are still in operation today.
For over 50 years, Griffon Hoverwork has supplied governments and organisations concerned with the safety and protection of lives, and with efficiency of travel, the confidence to achieve their goals in the face of intimidating environmental challenges.

We begin by working with you to understand the specific environmental challenges that your operation faces, to find the most beneficial solution possible. Feasibility studies into hovercraft operations are also offered to provide customers with absolute certainty of the positives and shortcomings hovercraft operations may have for them.
Once the operational and environmental requirements are established, the craft is customised for this role from the general arrangement to the additional equipment and machinery necessary.
Built at our UK production facility, with 55,853 square feet of primary production space and 11,684 square feet of specialised production facilities, your craft is built to national and international classification requirements, in lean manufacturing production, using marine grade aluminium.
Upon completion of sea trials and optional Class Approval, we deliver your craft to anywhere in the world.
Pilot and engineer training packages are available for Type Rating certificates. Held at Griffon Hoverwork HQ or in-country, initial to advanced training and instructor training are all offered.
When maintained properly, Griffon hovercraft operate for decades. To ensure you have everything you need to maintain and keep your craft in action, support and contingency spares are offered for every operation.
