This award, from the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), celebrates businesses working in the Solent region that demonstrate outstanding achievements in the global marketplace, involving a successful export strategy that underpins growth and the ability to innovate.
Griffon Hoverwork is the world leader in hovercraft development and has been involved in the manufacture and operation of hovercraft since they were first conceived, over 70 years ago. Their hovercraft operate across all five continents in over 45 countries from the jungles of South America to the frozen seas of the Baltic and Arctic in roles as diverse as passenger, coastguard, military and rescue operations.
Griffon Hoverwork has expanded its highly regarded technical support and marine consultancy business beyond its specialist global customer base into the wider high speed marine vessel market. Offering outstanding expertise in Naval Architecture, Zero Emissions Marine and Electric Systems Engineering, Aerodynamics and Regulatory Compliance Engineering they are set to play a key role in the delivery of the UK Clean Maritime 2050 strategy and similar initiatives in other nations around the world.
